Odisha Smart Health Card Scheme 2023
Odisha Smart Health Card Scheme was launched. The scheme is designed to provide health insurance up to Rs. Rs 5 lakh per family every year. Its main objective is to provide health care support to people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This insurance program will benefit about 3.5 crore families of the state. These individuals will receive free medical services through government health institutions in the state from district-level to sub-centre level facilities.
Also women will get additional Rs. 2 lakh in health insurance coverage. The Smart Health Card comes with a 64kb chip which stores information for all the members of the family along with a unique 12-digit registration number. To prevent this from being lost, two smart health cards will be given to each family in the state.

Odisha government has launched this innovative scheme to provide free healthcare to the economically disadvantaged residents of the state. Under this initiative, eligible individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds will receive health insurance coverage of approximately Rs. 5 lakh, with the primary goal of ensuring access to free healthcare services.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a resident of Odisha.
- All recipients, regardless of their residency or income status, are eligible.
- It is necessary to have Biju Krishak Kalyan Yojana card.
- Applicant must have BPL (Below Poverty Line) card or Antyodaya Anna Yojana card.
- The annual income of the candidate should be less than Rs. Rs 60,000 in urban areas. 50,000 in rural areas.
- The applicant should have National Health Insurance Scheme card.
